Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Production Support

  • Carry out and assist with the tasks necessary to meet production goals, such as machine reliability, production volume, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Follow established protocols and technical documents when operating machinery.
  • During breaks, vacations, training sessions, and other operational requirements, assist operators and service providers.

Maintenance and Repairs

  • Follow predetermined schedules while performing preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Identify and fix equipment malfunctions as soon as possible.
  • To increase performance, keep an eye on machine waste and downtime and take appropriate action.
  • Set and track goals for the use of spare parts.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Complete all forms and records related to production performance, product quality, and traceability.
  • Record data in:
    • QIMS
    • SDE
    • Shift handover logbooks
    • SDM systems including PM cards, defects, CL, CIL, and MP&S tasks.

Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS)

  • Recognize potential risks at work and put the right safety measures in place.
  • Take part in EHS training courses.
  • Observe written instructions, warning signs, and safety signs.
  • Report mishaps, near-misses, dangerous situations, and dangerous actions.
  • Assure adherence to local laws and regulations as well as EHS, Energy, and Quality policies.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • A mechanical engineering bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
  • At least two to three years of experience working in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Having prior experience with maintenance systems and production machinery will be advantageous.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with SAP production procedures and systems.
  • Proficiency in Swahili and written and spoken English.
