Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Gather information for ESIAs, or environmental and social impact assessments.
- Make sure building sites adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.
- Implement and create systems for managing solid waste.
- Determine and measure contamination in the environment, especially water and subsurface water pollution.
- Create project briefs and conceptual design suggestions.
- Under the direction of supervisors, transform design concepts into feasible drawings.
- For construction projects, create comprehensive environmental engineering installation drawings.
- Utilize pertinent engineering standards, rules, laws, and regulations pertaining to the environment.
- Create initial cost estimates and bills of goods for environmental engineering projects.
- Create preliminary budgets, project plans, and work schedules.
- Gather site data in person for technical audits and assignments.
- Prepare reports and take part in condition surveys for existing structures.
- Look for and gather the design information needed for construction projects.
Qualifications and Experience

- A Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Quantity Surveying
- Building Economics
- Building Survey
- Construction Management
- Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Additionally, candidates must:
- Be registered by the Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB), or
- Be a Graduate Quantity Surveyor.
