The university accepts online applications from candidates for undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree programs via our website, www.saut.ac.tz.
For more information regarding undergraduate degree programs, including the prerequisites for admission to St. Augustine University of Tanzania, applicants are strongly encouraged to refer to the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) Students Guidebook.
Candidates for undergraduate non-degree programs (certificates and diplomas) are encouraged to review the requirements for admission on our website and in supplementary educational materials, such as brochures.
Applications are accepted from August to October for bachelor’s degree programs, from February to November for postgraduate programs, and from June to September for non-degree programs.
Applications for the NBAA/NBMM or PSPTB Exam review courses must be sent to the appropriate departments at least three months prior to the start of the courses in September or January.
All new students are required to attend the registration process, as detailed in the University/TCU Almanac and joining guidelines. The new student orientation event will be held during the second week of registration.
Before traveling to Tanzania, international students must complete all immigration requirements in their home countries. When they arrive, they must also pick up a residency permit from the closest Tanzanian Embassy or High Commission. This needs to be completed as soon as feasible. It is advised that tourists to Tanzania bring their documents and certification from SAUT to verify that they have been granted entrance. Additionally, it’s a good idea to have financial aid paperwork ready in case immigration officials request it at the port of entry.

Entry Requirements for Admission
Minimum requirements for entrance to institutes of higher learning: The following SAUT minimal entry requirements have been set by TCU and NACTE for admission to HEIs:
- A minimum of two primary passes with a total score of 4.0 points is required for Form Six applicants who finished their A-Level coursework prior to 2014.
- A minimum of two principal passes (two Cs) with a total score of 4.0 points is needed for Form Six students who finished their A-Level coursework between 2014 and 2015;
- To get eligible, Form Six candidates who finished their A-Level coursework in 2016 must have two principal passes with a total score of 4.0 points;
